Registering for Online Training

Here's how to set up an account and register for online training. Importantly, you should take extra effort to ensure that your member ID (WLACC ID) is entered correctly, so you will receive proper credit for your online training sessions.

  1. Obtain your Western LA County Council Asst. Scout Master ID ("WLACC ID") number from the ASM roster

  2. Go to www.myscouting.org

  3. If you have already registered, login and skip to step 5

  4. If not registered then create a new account by using:

    • Your Membership ID - use WLACC ID, your personal ASM number (also on your BSA card)

    • Unit ID# - 103435 - "Western Los Angeles County Council"

  5. Once in the site, look to the left and click on the tab for "E-Learning" under the "Training" section

Note, if you have already created an account before you knew what your Membership ID was, you can add it by logging into your account and clicking on "My Profile". From there, you add it in the "Membership Info" section at the bottom of that page. Use the following values, then click "Add"

  1. Council - choose the entry for "W.L.A.C.C - Van Nuys, CA - #051"

  2. Member ID - your WLACC number which you can find in the ASM roster

Once you have taken the online courses, make sure to hit the send button and print the certificate when completed and bring it to the troop meeting and give it to Larry Kirven
